June Market Overview.

June was the month the Federal Reserve stopped hedging. The hawkish pivot lifted the dollar, reset gold and de-risked crypto — and it split the book: two of the three active Divitae strategies finished June positive, led by KRONOS, while HERMES was suspended by its portfolio-level risk stop. The headline story, in plain terms, with the full report linked below.

What happened in June

June 2026 was the month the Federal Reserve stopped hedging. A blockbuster jobs report on 5 June — 172,000 jobs against an 85,000 consensus — and CPI accelerating to 4.2% year-on-year set the stage; the FOMC on 17 June delivered the verdict. Rates were held at 3.50%–3.75%, but the median 2026 dot climbed to 3.8%, nine of eighteen officials projected at least one hike this year, and the easing bias disappeared from the statement entirely. The dollar surged through 100.00 and extended to 101.00 within two sessions — its biggest gain in three months.

The repricing hit everything at once. AUD/USD broke below 0.7000 and USD/CAD ran toward 1.4200 as policy divergence widened; sterling broke below 1.3200, with Prime Minister Starmer’s resignation on 22 June adding domestic uncertainty. Gold was hit from two directions — higher real rates and a stronger dollar — sliding to lows near $3,975 as the “debasement trade” unwound, with $12 billion leaving SPDR Gold Shares over four months. Bitcoin fell roughly 21% to near $58,300 on record $4.06 billion of monthly spot-ETF outflows.

The bottom line

Unlike May’s two-way chop, June offered clear directional trends once the FOMC verdict landed — and systems positioned long-and-short could work with them. The dollar’s advance was the month’s dominant theme, and it rewarded discipline over breadth.

How the strategies performed

Two of the three active strategies finished June positive. In line with our strategy provider’s reporting format, we publish the monthly return and trade-level statistics for the period; full verified track records remain on each strategy’s page.

  • KRONOS — +3.71% (crypto, BTC / ETH); 40 trades at a 4.73 profit factor — achieved while Bitcoin fell ~21%, a showcase for long-and-short positioning
  • ARES — +0.80% (FX & commodities); 1,911 trades, 68% win rate, 1.90 profit factor
  • ZEUS — −0.39% (FX & commodities); 2,863 trades, 65% win rate — a contained month
  • HERMES — suspended during June by its portfolio-level risk stop (see below)

Each strategy’s track record remains independently verified through Q1 2026 (31 March 2026) by Alpha Performance Verification Services under the GIPS® approach.

“June rewarded selectivity: a positive crypto month against a −21% Bitcoin tape is exactly what long-and-short systems are built for.”

Why it matters to you

Months like June are why systematic portfolios hold more than one engine. The same macro shock — a hawkish Fed — produced a positive month for the crypto system, a positive month for one FX system, a contained negative for another, and a risk-stop event for a fourth. That dispersion is not a flaw; it is the design. Diversification across systems, not within a single one, is what carries a portfolio through regime changes.

Past performance is not a guarantee of future results, and verification confirms one thing only: the historical record is presented fairly, on stated criteria.

HERMES: temporary suspension

In June, HERMES closed all remaining open positions after its cumulative drawdown reached the strategy’s predefined maximum-loss threshold of 30%. The safeguard operated exactly as designed: the portfolio-level risk control closed every remaining position and reduced market exposure to zero. The drawdown was not a single-session event — it accumulated progressively from late January through an unusually unstable stretch for FX and precious metals, with the largest negative contributions from GBP/USD, AUD/CAD, AUD/NZD and XAU/USD positions.

No new positions will be initiated during the suspension period. The data collected throughout the incident is being incorporated into an adjusted strategy infrastructure — improved correlation assessment, concentration controls and earlier portfolio-level de-risking. HERMES therefore remains temporarily suspended, and we will inform all investors separately as soon as a reinstatement date is confirmed. A full account is provided in the June report below.
